Just got my new harley oil cooler part# 26082-05b for my 03 road king. I already have the chrome voltage regulator cover part# 74543-00.
Problem is it looks like the oil lines need to go right where the long chrome mounting studs for the regulator cover are. I know I've seen at least one bike running both of these items. Anybody out there running both of these items, and if so, how do you have everything running?
They do not work together. That's probably why HD sell a chrome regulator for 175 bucks or so..I know because I gave my cover to a friend with a new Roadking.
Just a side note: Go buy a 7/16 allen wrench......You're going to need it for your install.
I removed the chrome cover from the cooler and never did have one for the VR. IMO you don't need to be calling attention to that area, as it isn't pretty even chromed out, and all black makes it not stand out. I also feel like convection in traffic will be better for the cooler without the cover.

Don't install the regulator cover
because the regulator will run a lot hotter.
Ask me how I know.
