for a street glide? Scala rider, chatterbox, ect.. Wife and I just want something that we can occasionly say very short sentences like, " hey, watch out for that deer", or "take the next stop, I gotta pee". I have no freakin idea where to start looking or even what features/functions are important. I know nothing about these and gizmos and would like to know what ya'all use.
not wireless, the unit installs on the bike, has headsetsmicrophones that install in/on the helmets. simple to plug into with the supplied cords, from the bike to the riders helmets. clean installation.
Sundowner seat for wife with detach back rest, I get a poke in the side for a p stop. I am the short silent type, no G.P.S. no walkie talkie, no intercom, no raido, no C.B. we just ride andI get a poke in the side.
Yeah thats how my speed control works. I go too fast I get a knock on the back of the helmet. If I had my way I would pass on the intercom crap but I have to keep momma happy if I want to enjoy the ride.
I have been looking at the Blueant Interphone. It has gotten good reviews for the most part. Some have said it's battery life could be better, but I don't plan on doing 5 hours of non stop talking with the wife while on the bike. It is wireless and that is attractive to me.
I have the BlueAnt Interphone. Got it from chubbycutegirl on Ebay. We love them when we use full cover helmets. I like it because it intfaces with cell phone. Battery life has not been an issue.
whatever you do DO NOT GET the Chatterbox Helmet Intercom System....piece of junk IMHO...got so P.O.'d threw mine away in a hotel trashcan 1/2 way during a ride to So. Carolina....I finally broke down and got the Autocom Active Plus for my Road Glide.....systemworks awesome!!!!

Saw the above on your profile...how cool!! I'm from: So. California - soon to be So. Carolina!!
The Scala rider has been very good for us. It has worked around town and on the Ride the Rockies trip from San Diego. Getting the voice activation is a little hard sometimes, shout into the mic. All in all we like them. NO cords. Plenty of battery life.
