I like my ABS alot. I tested it on dry roads and it will kick in for hard stops above 55. I had an emergency stop from 70ish on a dry road and it engaged and the bike stopped straight, short and up. I like all the new features of the 2008. After I had the SE exhaust, A/C, and sert installed it is even better.
Just remember that if you engage the ABS you will increase your stopping distance over proper threshold braking but the brakes will not lock up causing you to lose control. I think it was well worth the cost.
I had one brief ABS event last weekend, nailed the brake a little too hard and was backing off as soon as I felt the pedal buzz under my foot. I think it well worth the money because, for me, no matter how much I practice braking skills, there may come that OH $HIT moment when I grab too much brake and instaed of lockem up, I have a controlled deceleration.

Thanks for all the replies. I like 'em in my car & in my plane so I'm sure I'll like 'em on the RG! I'd added the dual-disc to my '02 Lowrider...I'll take all the brakes I can get for that one time some ahole may not see me! Knock on wood.
Can't really comment on the ABS yet, but with the rain in the Puget Sound area I like having that feature. I do think the Brembo brakes are really strong. Rode the Ultra two-up for the first time today, and even with a passenger they really haul you down. I like the get-up-and-go from the motor too. I wondered how the already heavier bike would do with the added passenger, and I was very pleased.
Hopefully I"ll never have to test my ABS brakes either. Glad I have it. Motor Cop told me it will save my butt someday in a pinch so thats why I ordered bike with thisoption.
