road king wheels first post

my brother in law bought a wrecked 2006 road king that has a warped rear spoke rim. he assumed that a 1998 road king mag would fit. he got a good deal $300.00 plus almost new tires. a friend told him after the purchase that harley changed the rims and thy would not work. is this true? also if i posted in the wrong subject forgive me this is my first post. lok foward to chatting.

I am anxious to find out the answer. I have a 2003 Road King, solid wheels, like my 2005 Fat Boy.

Different axle size, I think is the problem

While the bearings could be swapped, that ain't the real problem. The problem is that the '98 wheel has a 2" hub, while the 2000 and up wheels have a 2 1/4" hub. The brake rotors won't swap back and forth on the wheels.
