Wow, and all this time I thought my "TOURING" bike was not supposed to beallowed in the rain orto be washed.
Sorry for the sarcasm, butsometimes I just don'tunderstand.......
Only thing I don't direct full pressure on is the radio becasue water tend to slip past the cd flap and into the player. Even when it does, it still plays fine. I use the filter setting of the Mr Clean AutoDry around the radio. Everything else is fair game. I've ridden in storms that were far worse than anything that a hose could do.
I don't like water on my scoots. I use Pledge before or after most every ride. About once a year, I wash it with soap and water, dry it with a leaf blower and use McGuires wax. In addition to my EGlide, I have a 99 Metric lowrider that still looks as good as the day I bought it.
To be honest, I don't wash my bikes more than a few times a
year and never above the engine. I use a detailer on everything
I can get to above the engine when I wash and every weekend in between the very infrequent washes. Pledge wipes to good
too.
Man I live in Alaska, good luck keepin anything clean up here. It's April 26 and my bike is covered but it's buried under about 18" of snow. Man I can't wait to leave this place!!!!
My condolences Scooter. Don't think I could live like that.
I ride all year long except when it's dangerous due to
black ice, snow or violent thunder storms. My office is at
a local prison and I ride in to work when by policy, it's to
cold to send the inmates out to work. Hope you get out
soon. I'd go stark raving mad cooped up without my bike.
I normally use the car wash. No high pressure water in the speakers, or instrument panel area. While the stuff is water resistant, I don't trust it enuff to just blast high pressure water in there.
