I had the same problem on my 08 Ultra.
Turned out to be loose screws holding the windshield on the fairing.
Hope this is your problem.
Easy fix with a Phillips screwdriver.
I had the same question when I got my 03 RK. Was told it was normal, That was 35,000 miles ago. Still runs great and has taken me all over the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS
Very Normal! Just wait till she is broke in and extreme hot weather... These motors are like any air cooled motor lots of noise have you ever hear an older Porsche? Sounds like a Pachinco game coming at yah..... Don't let the noise scare you, its a Harley.
Let someone else ride it and listen to it, bet it sounds great. I was told by and HD r&d guy that noise is good- only if it changes, gets worse or becomes new should you be concerned...
