Default Need Advice

Just got my bike back from H@L Performance motors in Wallingford, CT. New pistons, ported and polished heads, new valve springs and woods 575 lift cams. They couldn't dyno it today because their machine was down and couldn't map it either. He said he made the bike run real rich and that I should take it easy until I bring it back next week. My bike is an 07 RKC with power commander III, ness big sucker and V@H pro pipe. The bike sounds awesome!!!! My question is that it is not as off the line quick right now as I had hoped. The driveability isn't as good as before. I am being told that it really needs to be custom mapped and that will make a huge difference. Is this true? I would really appreciate any help. Thanks

when they get their machine up are they gonna dyno it and fine tune the map? sounds like something that you already paid for, they just need to finish the job....

Yes I already paid for it. Will it make a difference with a custom map?

yes, it will make a difference. how much of a difference depends on how close the map that you have now is. usually, a canned map will get you in the ballpark but a dyno tune will tweak it. but without knowing what map you have now, there is no way to tell how much of a difference its going to make. if you have a laptop, you can hook up your pciii and download the map to see which one you have. you can also tweak it yourself some, or upload another map that is closer to the configuration that you have.

It should make a big difference if they can custom map it. Sounds like they just basically got it running somewhat decent for now, and you said it was set real rich. Take it back soon as they can finish the job, if you paid them for it, if not find someone else who can do it.
