I'm installing Headquarters tc500 cams in my 07 ultra,it has a ness big sucker and rush slipons with 2.25 baffles on the stock 96" motor.
I need a map for my powercommanderIII for this set up if someone could help out,Fuel moto says they dont have one
Thanks
I checked and no such luck there either,i called dynojet and they told me they had one close but i would have to dyno.
I bought the Power commander so that i could get a map and not have to dyno
Well, the pre-canned maps are nice, but to get the full performance you always need a dyno tune. Even if they had an exact map of your set-up, odds are it wouldn't be perfect for your specific bike.
Thanks so much for the input, i decided i will get it dynoed.
HDRIDER- i see that you have got the older version of the cams i am puting in my bike, what can you tell me to expect from them and also did they do anything for your MPG
well, what can you expect. First expect a noticable difference in sound of the motor. Lopes a bit more at idle, and you can feel the power band come on pretty well around 2500 rpms. Mileage i am finding is about the same as i was getting before, and thats even with the extra wrist twistin. I am currently running a canned map, so i'm sure i could get more out of it if i were to have it dyno tuned.
Lets consider these options. If you have a PCV already........approximate prices and cost!
Dyno Tune: A decent one at HD dealership or other: $200
Result: Map for your specific build at that time, those conditions (elevation, humidity, temp, etc.) Runs great depending on capability of tech doing the dyno, and also calibration of dyno, sniffer and all.
Good Choice, Great choice if you will not change your build and ya completely trust the dyno tech.
NEXT OPTION:
Auto Tune Module for PC5: Cost: $300
No Dyno tune needed, ride it and it will adjust as long as current map is decent.
Result: Map changes with conditions, including weather, elevation, temps and or add on builds. Add cams, heads, whatever, it will adjust!
Considering the extra cost, if you plan on doing more to the bike later, it is a wash or a better deal in my opinion!
