Just got the word today from my dealer. Delivery date has been pushed back again on my 08 Ultra. With the new date I will be set back 3 months from original delivery. Killing me pretty bad. They did make it right tho by giving me a selection of any rental any time for free until my bike comes in. Still not the same but it will work I guess.
Your post is sending shivers up my spine. I ordered my Ultra Classic in December with a delivery date of August 08. Waiting 9 months is bad enough but longer?
I thought the delay wasbecause we live in this funny little country called New Zealand.
How long is the usual wait in the US at the moment?
Having ordered my R/G late Feburary, the arrival date was late May / early June .........not sure what the status is now.
I'll check in with the dealer in a couple weeks to see if he has any updates for me.
I see a lot of bikes in the dealerships around middle Tennessee. Unless you want an unusual model/color combo, I'll bet that you can findthe bike you want if you call around or look up dealerships in Ill and do an inventory search.
That's rough. I was barely able to wait out two months, and one of those was March, when I wouldn't have been able to ride anyway. I'll consider myself lucky to be counting down to my delivery on Saturday. There are bikes to be had, unless you're ordering something unusual. My dealer has a few on the floor and I was just talking to a buddy in Maine, who said his dealer had a lot of bikes on the floor. Maybe your dealer could get what you want from another dealer?
I'm sorry. I feel your pain. I know it's frustrating. I'm impressed the dealer made that offer. It's not like riding your own, but hopefully it will help get you through.
might as well wait and get a 2009. At least you'll get a year newer bike. Orhave the dealer find the bike you want and do a dealer trade for it. If he won't then find another dealer who will.
