i was riding home with stereo on and then motor shut down as if i turned off the key, i coasted into a nearby driveway. i checked plug wires, coil, battery ect, all looked ok. i turned ofheadlights but radio was not on,nothing, it wont even turn on. i started the bike and rode about 2 miles and then it backfired and did it again. i pulled over and sat 20 min. then tried to start it , she fired up and i rode 4 miles home. it sound electronic, why is my radio no even going on?is it heat related?
Change the 50amp CB under the seat. ITs the cheapest fix only about 6 bucks. My bike was shuting down but would restart but I didnt seem to have a prob with the radio like you have. I changed the CB and not a prob since.
my bike did that, dealer removed and reconnected ECM cable...problem went away, 8k since and no problems.....there was just some type of communication problem in the connection.
