the main problem with "powered antennas" is they take a small signal full of noise and filter it, then amplify it. you also amplify the noisewhen you do that. while the small powered guys do work ok, agood analog antenna will trump it in sound quality and usually in distance it can reach.

A good friend bought his at Radio Shack and it works great... it was less than 20 bucks I think

I am having good luck with a Tune Trapper mounted inside the fairing so go figure!

Just get a long FM antenna and coil it up and the put you a plug for the radio on it, plug it it in and secure it with wire ties under the fairing, works great and cost almost zero and you dont have to splice in to any power.

i purchased one on ebay "antenna x" and it sucks. i want to put a reg. antenna on rear bag mount.
