Okay, I'll say it out loud. Asking how in the world you open the glass saddlebags off the bike!

My bike doesn't have security, so I don't have that problem. But I did leave my key at home once. About 60 or 70 miles from home I needed gas, but no key to open the cap. Some one at the store knew some one with a Harley and they brought me a key. I have since installed a lockable push buttonon my gas lid. I never lock it, but it looks more secure, and for short rides I don't have to worry about forgeting the key.

Weather clears. It was supposed to rain. It's about 50 degrees so why not go for a ride? I call 3 buddies, but no one can make it. So, off I go to watch my son coach a soccer match. Not too far, about 8 miles from my house. I'll spend some time there then go for a cruise and get home before dark. Bike runs great, I'm enjoying it... the winter blues are almost gone. The second I shut the bike off I realize I left my key fob home, in my other jacket, which of course is just a few feet from my bike. Fortunately my wife is a good sport and she brings the key to me... the biggest problem is explaining how I got to the game without the key. Here then is what I learned. Now I lock the fork, even though my garage is secure. That will force me to get the key. I'm sure no one else has ever done this. I'm just grateful I was not 250 miles from home and fueling the bike.

In case you're interested... the first dumbest thing was posting a question about how to open the new saddlebags (off the bike)!

Ride safe, and take your key!

I have a little bag velcroed in the saddle bag. I just drop the key in the bag and it keeps it where I can find it and keeps it from banging around. I also carry the card that tells how to disarm the alarm because I'm old

Did same thing riding to work. Pull in the garage, reach for key to lock forks, and OH crap!!
Thankfully, I begged my daughter to bring me the keyfob. Try explaining this to a kid how you rode 20 miles with no key....

Very CAREFULLY!!!!! Set mine on a soft blanket and had my wife hold them at both ends, and they open and close easily.

okay, i hate to say this but if you guys are so forgetful about your keyfob that you have to zip tie it to the bike or keep it in the saddlebag then you are just leaving yourself wide open for anyone to come along and just hop on your bike and ride away.

my suggestion? leave the keys in the same place everytime so you know where they are and don't have to hunt for them, and learn how to set and use the alarm disarming code.

i won't tell your wife and kids that they made those trips for nothing if you won't
