have a 2008 eg classic and thinking about those saddle shields that disepate (sp?) the heat from the rear cylinder off your legs. do they fit with the adjustable backrest. the backrest has the "handle" for adjusting the seat right where it appears these shields fit? does anyone have any experience with this? thanks
I have the RJ Originals, and love them. I wrote to RJ regarding the same thing you are worried about. He assured me, by phone no less, that they would NOT interfere.
He is a great guy.He called me back with an hour of my inquiry, and we talked like old friends. He is super informative to say the least.
He even called back after I received the shields, to se if I had any install issues.
They do not interfere at all with the adjustablebackrest control.
Good Luck.

I had the Kuryakin saddle shields on my 2000 Road Glide, they were totally worthless, as a matter of fact I think they trapped engine heat rather than dissipate.
The HD shield work great at keeping the heat off the twins. They will not work with the adjustable back rest or with a Fatcat. Kuryakyn's shields will work with both. I just installed the new Kuryakyn for an 08 yesterday but have not tried them out. Not even sure I like the looks of them but figured they will help on my trip to the dragon and Myrtle Beach bike week next week.
