The best way would be to hose off the roads and thats gonna cost ya. As far as salt damage replace, repaint, and rechrome might be your only option. Salt is a nasty creature and seagull **** seems to be the best inhibitor but smells like ****. Offshore rigs last forever because of it.

Well hate to hear that.. I am not sure what they use on your roads.I would recommend a lot of washings with a follow up with some good wax or polish. There is a product here in the states that has become popular S100 made in Germany. They have a complete line of stuff and offer corrosion stuff as well...here is a link to the site http://www.s100.com/Good Luck

Default RE: Salt damage......

I live on the coast with alot of salt spray. Changed out stock wheels for chrome 9 spoke becausechrome holds up better than aluminum. Changed out the brake pads for the Lindall Z non metallic pads to eliminate corrosion from brake dust. Coated everything on the bike that wasn't chrome or leather with CRC Heavy duty Corrosion Block spray (except engine). You need to coat everything you can reach. Take out battery and coat the tray, take off fuel tank and coat the frame under it. Every nook and cranny - even brake calipers (cover rotors when you do this).

The spray leaves a matt finish that doesn't look too bad. When you wash the bike do not use anything that will remove wax or grease. I use a product called Salt Away from the marine store. Disolves salt without removing wax or the corrosion block. Don't let salt stay on the bike very long.

For the fin edgeson the cylinderscoat withAlumaguard or anything to seal the raw aluminum.

Whenever I add a new piece of chrome to the bike I coat any part of it that will not be visible with corrosion block and of course while the bike is apart take the opportunity to coat anything that you could not get to before.

Even the threaded bolt holes in the frame will rust if you do not remove as many as you can reach, coat the holes and re-install the bolts.
