Default Passenger Seat question

Hi - Just got my SG home and am totally stoked. I got Big bore, Map(SERT is on backorder but coming- thanks to forum), Hooker mufflers, Streamline highway pegs, removed heel shifter, and stg1 air...Needless to say I love it. It's my first HD, and like my handle, I just came off of a Hayabusa - so that says alot.

My only issue is when I brought it home, the wife didn't fit very well, she is short ' 2" and had a hard time in the passenger seat, she doesn't want to ride it like that ever again. She feels like she is going to fall off the back as she is used to leaning forward towards me (years on the back of a sport bike) and having her feet right under her. I am considering a Sundowner as it looks like it would scootch me forward a bit giving her some more room and then getting a backrest for her. Her feet bearly reach the stock pegs, i figured being closer would help...

Anyone else out there have any experience in this?? We were planning a road trip next week, as it sits, (no pun) It's on hold until I handle the seat situation...Any suggestions welcome!!

Thanks,

Newbie --BusaToHog.

Sundowner seat will make you both very happy. Detachable backrest will make her even happier. I believe also that the brackets that hold the passenger foot pegs can be removed and moved up a notch.

Do all 3 and you Da' Man and she the happy passenger.

Congrats and enjoy the ride. Hope to have my SG very soon.

Ride safe and don't forget to post those pic's!

I have a Mustang solo and matching passenger pillion for my girlfriend. She likes the seat a lot. I also have the detachable sissy bar for when she rides with me. Your wife will feel 100% better once you have a sissy bar for her. And yea, the passenger pegs can be moved up one notch-takes about 10 minutes to do both pegs. That will help her feet reach better and give her a more solid base to stabilize her body while riding.

My gf felt the same way about the sliding off the back, but getting the backrest made a BIG difference which in turn made the stock seat not as bad for riding.

Yup, the Sundowner with backrest is really the way to go, for both safety and comfort. It'll make her happy, and when she's happy, well, you know the rest. Good luck.
