Thanks. I read it all and could find nothing on the price of an amp. Not I see there is lowers now for a SG. Even more confusing. Sweet set up but wonder how much it all costs.
take it from someone who has actually tried both Hogtunes and Hawg wired systems,I replaced all 4 speakers on my 2008 Ultra Classic w/ Hogtunes speakers and they did sound much better than stock,I have dealt with Pez before and He makes a great affordable products, that being said i am what is referred to as an audiophile, most people aren't as picky about the clarity or distortion numbers as we are,I installed the Hawg wired DCS1202 plug and play amp with the Hawg wired speakers and there really is a big differance in the qaulity of sound, when i ride I like my music IN MY FACE,with no distortion no matter how loud I want to crank it,yes I did pay twice as much (went through M&M Cycles) for this system as Hogtunes charges for their amp and speakers but the differance is well worth the money to me,I am in no way knocking Hogtunes products,as I said they have a great affordable product line that is well within' reach for most,Hawg wired is not wihtin' reach for most but it's all relative, some can afford Chevy some can afford mercedez, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with Chevy's but the Mercedez is a far superior product built for those who can indulge.
BTW--whenever anyone needs warranty, I always ask for a ship to address confirmation incase people have moved--especially after a coupla years.....Nothing like havin warranty products shipped to your old address huh? Something most people appreciate if they ask WHY I need an address, and something I learned the hard way I need to check
This whole thing could have easily been avoided...sheesh!
PEZ
No complaints here from Pez! I had one speaker go bad and Pez had a new one sent to my NEW address in a couple days! Not sure what went wrong with the speaker, but it was the only one that I've had go bad and they sound great!
Good product at a great price with outstanding customer service!! No brainer here. I took the money I saved from Pez and bought a Thundermax two weeks later. I think that is a win,win situation if you look at it.
I payed $325.00 + $25.00 S&H for my HogTunes Fairing Lower Speaker Kit w/ Amp (FLSK-AMP). Just click on the product link on the website takes you to pricing. Use the forum members link and it will save you some green.
Not a totally fair comparison. But I have the Hogtunes with the amp in my lowers on my SG. I also have a set of JBL GTO 527's and a set of Polk Audio DB 1000 tweeters in the fairing. These 4 speakers run off the stock HK head unit. The great thing I have noticed with the HT set up is the vast improvement in bass response. Now I can make these distort if I try. But most of the time the sound is fantastic. Actually the JBL's distort first. Don't know if the HT's have ever sounded bad! No matter how much you spend you will never get the same sound quality as you will in an enclosed vehicle. I have played them loud enough that a riding buddy could tell what song was playing on the interstate at 75 mph. He was two bike lenghts in front of me!
When I contacted Pez about what I should buy from him. I told him that I already had the JBL's and Polks. I told him I was willing to spend more for a 4 channel amp and 4 of his speakers. He talked me out of this. Said that I would probably be more than happy with the sound quality with the speakers I already had. So I just added the lower speakers and amp. He could have gotten more money from me but chose to make me happy and save me money. Also he responded to all of my e-mails (there were a lot) promptly and answered all of my questions.
I have a 07 FLHTC and have worked this Forum over about speakers, amps etc. Decided on Hogtunes and sent off an e-mail to Pez. I say within 1/2 hr a have a response. We went back and forth with numerous e-mails and it was like real time chat. He shipped my amp and front speakers that day and shot me my UPS trackerv via e-mail. If the performance of these products are half as good as my first experience with Hogtunes well I'll \\; be in HOGHEAVEN  \\; I'll get back with what I think of this setup, since we all know the stock setup is just a real joke.
I'm confused,
 \\;In your first post, you say that "I'm not inot palying email tag" Then later you go on about
sending emails back and forth, so why not call the man in person?
You brought this to the forum BEFORE you even called the guy??
LAME, and premature
[sm=confused06.gif]Not alot of post on here \\;\\\\\\;but \\;\\\\\\;awful lot of needs from the Custormer Service for Hogtunes why is that
 \\;
ALot of people with blown speakers and problems but still rave about Hogtunes kinda wierd[sm=interesting.gif]
I love mine.................have the 4 speaker set on my road glide and they kick butt.......................pulled the harley speakers out of the front and replaced them with the hog tune speakers first...................huge difference in sound and volume................after adding the tour pac...ordered the speakers and pods and amp package.................all I can say is I ahve a concert going on around my bike going down the road and have had no problems with them over thelast year..................very happy
