You paid 18k+? Goodness........I got my 07 FLHP with the ACR heads done, 2k miles, one year left on the warranty, out the door for $15,793. No I don't have ABS and I passed on one that had it.
Nonetheless, 3k is 3k. Not being critical, but I can do a lot with 3k. I am of the belief that the "used cop bikes" are the screamin' deal. Having said that.........the 103 is a sweet set up. Enjoy!
I don't know how to ask this exactly, but how much was your FLHTP compared to say the Road King, or Ultra Classic. I mean, if you want to post the exact price, that's what I'm looking for, but if you want to just say more than a certain bike or less that a certain, that would be great. I'm pretty close to getting an Ultra Classic, but I've heard the police model is cheaper and it comes with the larger engine and a few other extras like a higher output alternator. Also, it being an inch lower is nice as I'm not the tallest guy around. Enjoy the bike and safe riding!

Curtis, the sticker on the bike was $18,838.00, add $940 for freight, and another $844 for Va. state taxes, registration, etc., that is a total of $19622.00. I got it for $18622.00 out the door. Plus, the bike has ABS.
JDRED,
thanks, I appreciate it. Sounds like you got a good deal for a new bike~ Again, thanks for the reply and safe riding out there.

PS-thanks for the info about the ride height as well. For me that's pretty important since I'm of the short variety! That sounds a little tall to me, of course I guess I could replace the seat I suppose. I guess I might just have to settle for the Ultra Classic...by the way, what year Mustang do you have? I've got a 1965 Fastback in my garage and have no more room in there with the car, current bike, tools, etc...

Ihave no problemspaying the price I did because it was "new". New FLHTP's aren't that common to find. There were other people wanting to buy the bike, as well, but Iwas first on the list. I'm sure there are great deals on used FLHTP's, and I'm sure yours is very nice too. But I wanted a NEW one, one that had never been ridin by anyone else. I'm happy.

WOW... I can't imagine buying a used police motorcycle unless it was at least 50% less than NADA value. A bike that does police duty and isn't "lovingly owned and paid for by an individual rider" ...no thanks on that one.. too expensive at any cost.
Maybe FLHP1034ME bought a police vehicle that was a private sale and citizen owned, I don't know, but I've seen what LEOs need to do on their standard issue bikes, and the use they get, and I say "no thanks" regardless of milage.
Beautiful Bike!
And you got an 08? Wow
I wanted a 07 FLHTP but couldnt find one in my area.
But that is perfect!
Nice find.
Thanks, rocknrod. I was very surprised to learn that the dealership had one. I just happened to walk right into it. Like I said, I'm very happy (and lucky) to get it. The sales mgr. liked the oneI bought so much, he decided to order two more, both in black. Not sure when they're due in. The bad part is they have to hold them for six months after they receive them, before they can sell them to just anyone, someone other than a law enforcement agency. And, even worse, they had to remove those pretty blue and red flashing lights, and replace them with passing lamps. That shot my plans for a quick commute to work! But, they did give me all the parts they took off. And, it came with a siren mount to boot!
