Default Which air cleaner?????

I'm wanting to put vance and hines pipes on my 07 Road King. I know I need to use the fuel pak. My question is this: The fuel pak web says that I need a "High Flow" air filter. The dealer is telling me that I need to buy the Screamin' Eagle air filter kit, but it's expensive. I do want to keep the stock air filter cover if possible. What exactly does "high flow" mean? Would simpley replacing the stock filter with a K&N filter be sufficient? Or do I need to just bite the bullet and pay for the SE upgrade?

Thanks

I learned a long time ago there are PLENTY of aftermarket HD places at much better prices. If you want to use the stock air cleaner cover, the KN rk-3909 is a good choice. Many on here go with the Ness Big Sucker. That will be the one for me when the money is available to do my upgrades.

I have a Hiflow SEAC that I took off for my Wimmer Intake....I'll ship it to ya' for 80 bucks delivered to your door! Shoot me a pm....

I'll even send a brand new K&N 3909 filter with it if you are serious about needing it!!! Let me know...I have it laying around and would prefer someone use it rather than try to resell for $

And skip the V&H Fuelpak, there are much better choices out there for a fuel management system.

Go with the Big Sucker, it can be had for about $100 online from www.easternperformance.com with free shipping. \\

I was told K&n makes the Screaming eagle. Anybody know if this is true or not? My K&N works fine.

The Ness Big Sucker is a bargain at about 100 bucks, is a piece of cake to install and it allows you to use your stock air cleaner cover.

There is a thread around here somewhere that shows the Zipper filter passes the most air.

If I am not mistaken, you still have to change the backplate to allow for proper mounting if you go to any of the high-flow filters mentioned.

Been running K&N in all my engines for decades. Have been able to feel a measurable improvement in each of them.
