I installed the Ride Str8 and I can do those speed w/o a wobble, but I usually stay at 80-85 for Interstates for long periods of time w/o a problem. On my LT I could do much faster w/o much worry, but imho part of the issue is that we have our fairing mounted on the handle bars...don't know if the Road Glides w/frame mounted fairing have this problem?
A friend got an 08 SG and at 400 miles got a wobble. She went to the dealer, it was the front wheel bearings. There is a problem with them. HD will not issue a recall but they are fixing the problems as they are taken in. They might argue this, but she got hers replaced under warranty.
I've had mine up to 110mph (GPS speed) once racing two friends on BMW's, rarely above 80mph any other time, and have never had a handling problem riding in a straight line. Rear waggle in sweepers was disconcerting at first, but the Ride Str8 mostly cured that. I rode my '96 RK 106k miles through 33 states in nine years and never had a wobble problem with it either.
I omitted some info -- bike was fully loaded -- 160/18 metz on the rear 4.25 rim with 40lbs of air
ORIGINAL: lkr0
on Thursday morning rolling down I-185 from Phenix City AL to Thunder Beach --- going about 95mph 6th gear the bike starts a serious wobble --- kind of snake like---let off the gas down to about 80 / 75 it comes out of the wobble---good road don't know why it did this.
There you have it. Proper tire pressure for your rear tire, two up, loaded, is 46 to 48 lbs!
