Mornin' guys.
Lookin' fora way to attach my hard packs to my motorcycle that would eliminate the "twist and lock" pins.
Two reasons for this:
1) I travel a lot with the bike, long trips, and I find that due to theweight in the hard packs, the pins become "misshapen" - the grooves on the pins spread
And
2) A lot of the hard packs are being stolen right of the bike.
I've read where some guys are using U clamps through the bottom of the hard pack, which provides some added anti-theft security which I am considering doing this as well, but my immediate goal is to find a better attachment that eliminates the use of the pins.
I have some TSA locks.. Would be nice if we/I could find a source for clevis pins that are the right size for the bags and TSA locks.. Dang.. I am going to West marine right now...!!!!
OK.. got back from West marine with the clevis pins.. Followed others directions and drilled out the springs.. See pictures.. Will have to experiment with a rubber gromit or thicker fender washer to keep bag tight w/ no rattles.. BUT WORKS...!!!
