This might sound stupid, but get a bolt that is about the same size take it to where you were working a drop it to see where it goes. It might give you an idea of where it is hidding.
if the bolt happens to be stainless a magnet wont get it. get a msall mirror and change your view down into the cracks and crevices . try a 4 pronged grabber
if its a regular chrome bolts then ?????????? keep looking
Above all, don't ride the bike , there's a good possibility it's resting on the belt and will get cranked around the pully and damage the belt. That's where they do end up at times. Start the bike up without rolling it and they sometimes fall out from the vibration. You can also used compressed air sometimes to blow it out of hiding. This has worked for me a few times. Do try to find it and don't overlook on top of the cross brace for the frame.
Chill , have a Beer. It will turn up. Try a magnet then have another beer. Repeat as ness.
I think the dude needs some whiskey (I'm reading mucho stress) between the beers.
Dude, your not an IDIOT. I'm a frigin' IDIOT. Trust me, you don't have the corner on IDIOT. If I had the guts to tell you people what I did this weekend, you all would agree with me. Damn it was sick!
I had the same issue with one of the lower inner fairing torx head screws. I was installing fairing mounted mirrors, it came out just fine but I lost it when reinstalling. This happened a month ago and I have yet to find it!
ask your wife to look for you. women are great at finding lost items. how many times have i lost my keys, my wallet, my phone, etc etc etc. only to get them found by the wife. its a well known fact that men just cant find things. i think that we give up just too easily and let defeat wash over usd
I looked for 4 hours for the brass barrel fitting for the end of my throttle cable. Just as I was about to say F*** IT and buy a new one I looked one more time and found it in the switch housing that I had looked in at least 459 times. Patience my friend, it has to be there somewhere.
