Question for the muffler experts

A friend of mine ordered a set of moded stock mufflers off ebay for his road king. When changing they we noticed the right stock muffler had a mesh like material plug in the head pipe end, The moded muffler did not and the stock left muffler does not. I pulled my stock mufflers off and they were like his stock ones. Theres no way I can see how this plug could have been taken out its much larger than the opening. Does anybody know the difference in these?

If the RK is an 06, I believe the RH muffler has a catylist in it. The LH does not.

Yes they are 06 bikes. I wounder what kind of effect that has on flow.

You are correct, on Commifornia models they have a cat. I cut open my stock right side muffler from the SG to check it otu for myself. I have to plug in the camera but later on I will take a pic of the opened up muffler and post it for people to see.
