Default Stock muffler question
Are the stock mufflers from an 09 touring model any different than 2013? I have a set off an 09 road king I was gonna dig out and try on my 2013 flht.

y would you take off stock mufflers and then put back on stock mufflers . just really want to know . I think they would be the same .I would just ride the new one and enjoy it

The 09's have cats in the mufflers and I believe the 2013's have the cats in the head pipe. So I would say that is a bad Idea, unless you want to run double cats

I thought the '09 non cat mufflers were more baffled than newer cat ones? Better to use newer mufflers.

I hear the 14 mufflers are water cooled.

Only if you get the air bag and heated/cooled sets package......

The 09 mufflers are slash up. I like that look better than the tapered mufflers. Only reason.There are no cats in my 09 mufflers.

09 headers don't have cats.

Exactly, cats are in the head pipes, not the mufflers.
