Anyone have Beach bars on their bike? Preferably on a Road King. If so, how do you like them? Any complaints? Have you done a long trip with them? How tall are you?
I just put wild1's wo550 beach bars on my RKC. I'm 6'0, and the bars are very comfortable. I did 250 miles yesterday...
My only complaintis it's more difficult to hold the throttle steady when hitting small bumps/dips.
I have 36" cheap ebay bars on mine. I am 5'11" and the are perfect for going down the road gotta stretch a bit to make u turns but I have had stock, heritage and the beaches are the best so far. I did knock a b*tches mirror back yesterday when she cut me off though little under estimation of the gap between the 2 cars. Crowds can be a challenge also. I was in Mexico at bike week and you basically bounce from person to person.
I have been looking at Baron Customs Big Johnson bars...you might want to check them out- they look good and would be a little different than all the other beach bars.
Damn lotta whining about some bars. Like em or not have a good time ridin.
People these days, I fire too many whiners.
Have a good ride boys and girls winter is comin...
at least up here ;P
I sold my 07 RKC yesterday. It had big beachbars, I dont know the size exactly. It looked very nice. But I would ride to the dealer and hop off mine and go sit on a stock bike..... I could not believe the comfort of stock compared to mine... It was a good test and obvious to me that I prefer a small ape/stock bar of some sort.
So... I sold mine and am looking for a Road Glide---
It was not comfortable to me when compared to stock. That wide grip clobbered my traps/neck/shoulders. I'm 5'11 if that helps...
Looks...or comfort? That was the decision for me.
I went off the deep end, sold the bike and am in the hunt for a Roadie---
I got pics if you want, just have to figure out how...

I've got the wild one 1.25 inchers on mine, and I love em. It's a Road King with the Dead Center Fairing. You can see it in the sig pic. Long rides, well I've got close to 70,000 miles on my bike and I had them installed BEFORE I took delivery. I knew I wanted them because I had the same ones on my softie. Nice ride.
If this works it will be a pic or two of my RKC with beach bars. I sold it a few days ago to get a road glide. The bars were very big, 1 1/4 and wider than the bars a friend of mine has, so I know they are on the larger side....but I do not know the actual specs (they were on it when I bought it).
Looked AWESOME. Felt ok, but began to bug me. After a ride to the dealer, walked right in and sat on a stock bike..... I was sold on the stock or at least mini apes (isn't that stock...8" ape?)
