08 Road King Odommeter

I replaced the stockSpeedometer with a combo speedo/tach. Unfortunately the part number in the book is not correct so the dealer is ordering the correct one. I put the old speedo back in and tonight I noticed that as I click through clock/trip a /trip b/ speedo I get one more display. This one reads "r 108". I have no idea what it means. If I can't find out tonight I'll ask the service guy when they open in the morning.

It is the miles remaining on the tank of fuel display.

Low_SG is right, the r is for range - the 108 is the estimated miles left in the tank.

Not that I'm sure I would trust it but, is this something that's new to the '08's? I have never seen that on my '07 Road King.

it's conservative. on the '08 it pops up automatically when the low fuel light comes on. mine shows up with "r 42" and i have about 1.5 gallons left in the tank. i get 40-45mpg.
