Seeking tech info for 97 road king.
Greetings everyone.
I recently bought a 1997 Road King off a friend who passed away before I could get more details about the bike.
I seem to have 2 minor issues that I hope someone with experience and tech background could help me with.
1) Fuel Gauge - totally off, reaches E when tank is still half full.
2) Speedo reading is off (Shows 60km/h when actual speed is 100km/h)
Some say because the bike has 18 inch rims (original were 16 inch) now that's causing difference in reading,
others say it's because the bike has a Jim's 6 speed on and that it has a separate module to calibrate the speedo.
Greatly appreciate any info you guys may have.
Regards from Malaysia!

Look at odometer.
Measure a distance ridden.
GPS is good for this.
Confirm that unit is not measuring in MPH.
There have been times that folks changed backing on speedometer in order to export but unit calibration was unchanged.
Basically, confirm that needle matches the odometer (distance traveled).
If not then a calibrator will be required that works with a 6 speed.
Dakota Digital might be such a unit.
