My '84 FLT used the same style pins that hold the newer style saddlebags on. I can remove the tour pak and run with just the 3 rail luggage rack. Can't release much quicker than that.
This is a link to the "Detachable Tour Pack Rack" that Harley sells. Although the description does not list the Electra-Glide Classic, I installed one on my 2003 FLHTCI along with the Antenna Relocation kit. I also used the Lay Back License Plate Holder even though the text says it will not work. They made some changes to the frames in 2007and I don't know if they changed the tour-pak mounting or the fender brace mounting so you need to check that.
I take my tour-pak off quite often. There is a noticable difference in handling and I get a little better gas mileage. I put it back on when riding double with my wife.
thanks, thats for "Fits '97-later " so will not help me on my 92. I may end up trading up to a newer bike after summer but sure hate tosell the old girl.
