Default Radio Problem??

I have an 07 Road glide. After washing it yesterday I just noticed that my radio is flashing once every few minutes. When I start the bike the radio works fine, then when I turn the switch to the parked position and lock the front fork the radio stays illuminated for about 5 seconds. There is no audio and the screen is blank but it is glowing red. Can anyone tell me what this could mean. Thanks.

These radios don't like to get wet. I had mine replaced under warranty, but it took a few weeks before the new one arrived. Maybe you'll get lucky and it'll dry out, but I wouldn't count on it. When/if you get it fixed, keep water away from it.

Maybe if you were a little clearer about your problem you'd get more people weighing in. You say the display "flashes" every few minutes, they you say it works fine when you start the bike. Then you say there's no display or audio when the ignition is turned off, which sounds normal.

I'm sure you have a problem, it's just hard to be helpful going by what you wrote.

ok, I will try to be a bit clearer. When the bike is on the radio is fine, then when I turn the ignition to OFF (locked) the display stays illuminated but blank (no image) for about 5 seconds. Then every few seconds it just lights up for a very brief moment. like a Blink.

It lights up when the power is off? In that case it must have something to do with the battery that maintains your presets. If it's caused by moisture about all you can do it dry it and see if it improves. Weather permitting, I'd let it sit in the sun for a long time...or else turn a blow dryer on it.

Is this while it is out in the sun?

Anyway. A duff radio will not influence the performance of the engine, lights, suspension, or any other necessary system on the bike. You can turn it off and take your trip and have it serviced when you return. Not having music is not a "major issue".
