It was worth it to me. I let the dealer do it while they had a 25% off parts and labor deal, plus I got the "elbow grease" $100.00 discount. Labor ended up costing me about $75, otherwise I would have done it myself.
if you cant justify the cost now polishing them will make them look like chrome you just have to maintain it and thats only till you get the chrome ones
Ask yourself this Question, After you walk away from your bike 20 feet and look at it. Everything on the bike is CHROME, BUT WHAT ???? Why would anyone build a bike and chrome all the pipes, bars, trim and put a set of brushed aliminum lower legs on it? Start with the basics first, then add to it. They make the bike look a lot better really quickly. IMO.
I'm wantin' to get chrome lowers for my bike. I think the stock lowers make the front end look "unfinished". It just isn't visually appealing.
How is the quality from a chrome exchange? Would it be worth savin' the money to go through one of those places, or should I just spend the extra money and get the HD stuff?
The chrome exchange I used was fabulous. I didn't think twice when I learned the dealership in my area use a chrome exchange and a chromer for cetain parts. Also mine came with a warranty.
Thanks, Manish_Hawg! I think I'll probably go that route. I bought my wife a new Sportster, so she's wantin' to chrome stuff out on it also. The chrome exchange places could save us a ton of money.
