Default Chrome front end, is it worth it?

I notice that not too many have there front end forks chromed. I like the way it looks and was wondering what is the general opinion in this mod. My dealer is offering 20% off the parts which I thought is pretty good but my concern is will they charge me 6hrs. of service time to install? For those those who have had this done what was the OTD price you paid? It looks good but I must justify the cost.

You could ask that about any piece of chrome. I did mine myself, and got 20% off parts.

Yep get a service manual and do it your self. Save the labor and it will pay for your parts.

Just had one installed on my 08 Ultra. Dealer time is 3.5 hours labor. To me it is a must have on my bikes. The chrome front end just lights up the bike.

I am accumulating parts to do mine as I have the spare $. My problem is I want to wheels at the same time, which is making it super expensive for me. I am planning on doing mine myself when the time comes.

Get the 20% off on your parts and buy a service manual with the money you're saving. Then do the install yourself and you've got the book to do a lot of other cool stuff, too. It's a win/win situation. By the way, I wouldn't own a bike without a chrome front end.

The chrome front end is a great looking addition. It does have a function as well ..... bugs come off so much easier than on the brushed finish original equipment.

I had it done on my bike and think it looks very sharp and sets off the front of the bike. I had mine done as a winter special a couple of years ago and got a great deal on it. I'll do it again on the next bike I get.
