I have been reading back on posts of using the Zuma 550 Garmin on my Ultra 06 stock setup. Its confusing to say the least. Bottom line, can this zuma work thru the stock intercom/head sets? If you buy Harleys add on bluetooth ($500) to the stock radio, does that work thru the headsets? Is there extras that have to be bought? If harleys work, do you need that feature then on the Garmin and buy the 450 zuma.Or vice versa that if the zuma works, save the money on the harley add on.I was told that Kennedy technology makes the pigtail to adapt these things. Also ($330.00) Very confusing! My local Harley shops really are not in to this to tell you anything. Thanks for any replys. Jim
J&M has a new interface to make your stock radio work specifically with the Zumo. Check their website. You have to look a little to find it but it's there. A little pricy and adds another gadget to the handlebar, but it may be more workable than HD's bluetooth option.
I am using the helmet headset for bluetooth calls. There is a special (low cost) interface that allows you to plug into the 2.5mm jack on the Zumo bike mount (located above the Zumo audio out 3.5mm jack) and allows you to use your helmet headset for both CB and bluetooth.
Simple, clean, inexpensive and crystal clear calls at 70mph!
