Default ambient temperature gauge
I have an 06 Ultra & the outside temp gauge reads 15 degrees too high anytime the sun is beating down on the fairing. I know this is very common because of the location of the temp. sensor under the fairing. Today I rented an 08 Ultra out of Santa Maria HD & noticed that the gauge was right on the money at all times as verified on my riding companions 08 Goldwing which has a very accurate digital gauge. Does anyone know if all the 08's are accurate & if so how did the MOCO correct this?

read somewhere that HD moved the sensor outside the fairing, much like most of us pre-08 owners have already done.

I was told by the dealer to just ignore the gauge....I have and all is well!

gman is right. They moved it to the steering head just below the fairing on the left side.
