First of all, the touring forum fuggin rocks! I was getting ready to install the HD siren II with rechargable receiver. Already knowing how bad the HD instructions are with add-ons, (detachable brackets kit), I viewed the instructions with an open mind. Well what do you now, the instructions say to take the RIGHT side cover where the siren needs to be installed for 05 and later touring models. WTF??? I just laughed because I already new it goes on the LEFT side next to the fuse box. I installed the siren, secured the siren antenna and programed the receiver in 5 minutes, all because of you guys in this forum it was quick and painless. But for the poor slob that doesnt know this he/she may never ever figure it out because the instructions are not even fuggin related for an 08. I came to the conclusion the siren instructions now hold first place for the worst instructions, even over the detachable brackets instruction because atleast the bracket instructions picture is semi close. But the siren instructions.... S.O.B. dont those HD guys proof read that crap??
Sitting on the bike, mine is also on the right side ,behind the ECM,and the antenna wire comes up along the frame just behind the side cover, about 1" short of the gas tank. I had mine dealer installed because police bikes dont even come with the factory system installed.
I remember reading about the siren connection being on the Left side on the 08's. I imagine the problem is that the siren's haven't changed and have been sitting on dealer shelves and in
warehouses for several years. In this case, the instructions were correct when the siren was made. Just a thought.

Exactly, so when they use a older part for 08 bike and change the location how would a guyknow this unless he saw it in the forums?that was my point, the instructions are worthless for a guy who buys the alarm for his 08 bike. Im glad I saw it in here once so I knew it goes on the left side by the fuse block.. I hooked it right up and works awsome.
