Default Smart Siren ll

Has anyone installed the smart siren ll on a 2008 FLHTCU with ABS? Instructions say to install on the right side after you remove the two flange nuts from electrical bracket that holds the ECM. The electrical bracket is not on the right side, the ABS unit is there instead.
What's up the ECM is under the seat.

Chris

I have an 08 RKC (FLHRC) and I just installed the Smart Siren 2. After almost an hour of trying to follow the instructions, I threw them away.. On mine, you remove the left bag and then the left cover. Once the cover is off, there is a fuse block right in front of you. Towards the front of that fuse block is a pair of plastic clips that the smart siren fits into. Once you have the antenna out of the way and have pulled the wire from the bogus bung on the side of the fuse block cover, you can (a bit forcibly on mine) clip the smart siren into the the slots and back into the hole. Then you plug the wire connector into the smart siren. I cut the velcro into 2 portions and removed about 1/3 of the the width. I took then seat off from the instructions and then I ran the antenna up under the front on top of the tin, and it works great. I put the cover and seat back on... tada. Hope this helps. The instructions were totally bogus for my 08.

Put a bit of lube on the holding posts, you have to force the siren into the slot. Easy to do, just follow above instructions.

Thanks to: MustBBrent, socalmoe and DrBOb81 for your help! I had read the Instructions that came with the kit but they made no sence at all, so I read them to the dog and he ran away with them. Thanks for the great pictures From DrBob81 https://www.hdforums.com/m_2674322/tm.htm It was so easy the dog installed it.

Chris

Harley needs to get their head out of their *** with their instructions sometimes.. They screwed up on this one. I did the same thing on mine. Spent an hour trying to figure out where the hell I was supposed to mount the siren, then called the stealer and the tech there told me where it went.. Piece of cake with proper information! Way to go moco (probably came from china anyways)... sorry HD. I still love you though.. MWA!
