no problems here... but although she runs good and strong, she ain't a race horse.. she's built for the long haul, so the performance is exactly what I expect.
When I was last in with Jamie at fuel moto, we got to talking about FBW throttle response and he stated that the system is programmed to notgo to 100% throttle below 3250 rpm. he didn't elaborate further on what the ramp up was, but I'll bet that is what most feel as a sluggish throttle. -- Tom
It was designed to limit full throttle below 2000 rpm to stop the lugging in the higher gears which produced scissoring of flywheels and such.
calibration 32935-08D for 96" engines will clean it up abit
twincam47, can you tell me what this calibration is? Is it the $150 stage I download that some of the dealers will offer, but not all?
Actually, I have noticed that the throttle plate on the 08 FBW bikes are programmed to not flood the engine with a gulp of air when you (or I) grab a handfull of throttle at low RPM's. I wouldn't call it a delay, but more a programming anomaly.
I'm sure in the future, tweakers will be able to ajust this program.
I personaly would rather have the cables, as I like the resistance of the cables to steady the grip as I move my hand around on the bars, other than that, TBW is fine.
Can't tell the difference myself. Then again, I'm not trying to impress the ladies with jack rabbit starts anymore[8D] Just take my time and enjoy these days.
