No, it's not normal and keep after the dealer to figure it out and fix it.

It seems like a dangerous scenario to me.

For what it's worth, my '08 has been flawless to this point.
Absofukinlutely!!!!! Confused, since this is your first Harley, let me apologize for the MOCO. This should be a better experience for you. Maybe in the AMF days ....... well, another story. My '08 RK has given me nothing but a great big smile to this point. Sounds like you have some strange stuff and no, it's not normal.

You will be comfortable with it before you ride it into your driveway.

just be carefull on the slow roll - if you hit a dip in the road and the throttle moves the bike will jump - no slack in the cable, oh there is no cable -= fly by wire ......

my 08 rk has excellent throttle response. however, i test road an 08 rg a few weeks ago at H-D demo days, and i did notice a slower response than my rk.

08 SG with 3,800 miles so far and no problems. If anything, with the fuel injection the response has been very smooth and predictable. Big improvement over my 06 Triumph.

I have a slight delay at start - the bike definitely wants some rpm's. And you will not get 100% of the throttle until 3,000 - that is just the way it is setup by Harley.

No. Most rumors started by those who dont have an 08. Go figure.
