Would I be able to leave my ignitoin switch set to ACC. and charge something like my iPod or my cell phone. It would take up to 2 or 3 hours. Would this drop the voltage too much or is the battery able to handle this.
I know that I can cherge these when I am riding but I don't like the fact that if I stop the bike and turn the forks to the lock position the charger end will hit the gas tank.
Has anyone found a right angle adapter that you can plug into the lighter socket and then plug the charger into that.
Uhh... Battery life is less than 1.5 hours with accessories. Less than 1 hour withthe right turn blinker on. Don't know how long it is with the left blinker on but I imagine it's about the same. Push-starting the bike after that will get you almost 3 mins driving time.
Check the "Dumbass" section of the OM for more trivial factoids.
Don't know if this will help you or not but I have a harness that one end plugs into the battery tender wire. The other end is a receptical that the charger will plug into. It will then sit in the saddlebag and charge up. The harness was like $15. Hope this helps.
Buy the HD accessory recepticle. You can mount this into the side cover. Its something I did a couple of years ago. It also has a rubber cover so no moisture would enter the recepticle.
Yes, that would work as I could plug it in and route the wire into the saddle bag and be charging the unit when riding so I wouldn't discharge the battery. I also wouldn't have to worry about the charger hitting the gas tank.

I had to wire 5.5 volt power supply for my sirius radio so ran a pair of wires off of acc. plug under seat in vinyl wire loom along wiring harness-brake line under motor w/ cable ties. Then I followed the clutch cable up under faring out the handle bar hole on clutch side. I mounted an acc. plug under fairing/windshield bag where I store my cell phone I tried to snake the wire under the gas tank but that didn"t work. Other than a few more cable ties you can't even see the extra wires. I'll come off the same circut and put another acc. plug in the tour pack-switched and fused
This is what I found (before reading Trock's reply)for an easy plug and play. Ordered the 36" extension cable and the Cigar Outlet. Will run the cable into the tour pack and use the cigar outlet for charging devices. I wont need an inline fuse as both chargers have fuses built in.If i need to charge the bike I will just use the same connector without the cigar outlet.
