my bad
Earlier today I accidently hit nwe reply instead of new thread. So here we go again, I have a few accessories attached straight to the battery, tour pak interior lights, amp, heated gear, maybe something else. I know there is an accessory plug for such accessories, but I guess I don't get what the difference is between going straight to the battery and going through the battery to the acc plug. Is is to be able to avoid stacking multiple leads on the battery posts? Maybe something to do with those who want to remove the TP from time to time? Can someone explain the reason its there?
Thanks in advance

The accessory plug allows you to turn off the accessory using the accesory switch if it doesnt have and on/off switch. Most things you attach directly to the battery should have some kind of in line fuse for protection against failure.
Make sure that ALL tthe add-ons that you've installed have some sort of in-line fuse included in the wiring. Might just save you a whole lot of grief later. The advantage of going thru the AUX switch is that when you turn the bike off, everything goes off without having to turn them off individually.
The more terminals you stack on a connection (like the battery terminal) the more likely it is to come loose. If necessary splice multiple wires to a single ring terminal.
It's also easier to connect them.
I prefer to have the fuses in the fuse box, neater (cleaner appearance) easy to find and less likely to get damaged.
