There was a dude on EBAY a while back who made and sold these nifty little stainless brackets that you could to simply bolt the broken one together or add to unbroken ones so they never break. I have them and never have another issue.
Look close at how everything lines up, the Harley one was not bent correctly and causes the part to install under tension which soon destroys it. MAKE SURE all lines up and does not need to be sucked up with a bolt and this will help quite a bit.
