You may want to post this thread in the Exhaust area of this fourm. You will probly get a better response there. I to went with this set up. So I am watching this thread for information. I heard it was a great setup and V&H makes great exhaust systems.
I have them on a 2002 FLHRI Road King. I like them and the look of the pipe. Been on for about 3 years and noticed some rust inside the ends the other day. Otherwise good! Have Stage 1 kit and Harley Race Tuner. Runs good! The EPA won`t like me but this is America!
I have the Ovals and the stock head pipes for now....dresser duals are on order.....the ovals sound great and look better.....
You can't go wrong with Vance and Hines....all they do is exhaust......
I just installed them on my Ultra and love them. You will half to follow the instructions as I didnât find any shortcuts in removing the original exhaust pipes. Yes I did half to use the spacer washer under the front floor board for clearance. Again follow the instructions for installation; the left side pipe is close to the side cover.
The sound and performance are well worth the money. I can still hear my radio at +70.
Anything you can do to make them louder? I have them on my RK Custom. I took the baffles out. It's real loud, but not a nice
deep sound. I'm going to put them back in. Just wondering if there is an alternative to make them louder.
I just replaced the stock mufflers with the Ovals on my RK. I used a sound meter to check before/after. Before, at my reference point, stock was approx. 78 dBA. After the ovals were installed, it measured approx. 98 dBA. They have a nice, deep sound. While noticably louder than stock, they're not nearly as annoying as the Big Shots were on my FXD. I also notice some decel popping, but I'm guessing that will be fixable when I add the Stage-1 and Fuel Pak I have sitting in a box. They look as nice as the sound!
I installed them last month and have found my ride to be much better. The sound is awesome
