Looking at trading my 05 roadking for an 07 superglide. Just curious to hear from those who have been there and done that on which kind of exhaust they would put on. I hate to spend the money and then kick myself later. My king has Bassani true duals and boom can slip ons so its loud as hell, just like I like it. I know V&H big radius looks good but I see them everywhere. Thunderheaders look ugly to me but I love the sound. D&D fatcat look different sound different but good and supposedly perform. I know lots of choices but want to hear from experienced consumers. Thanks in advance!
i love my thunderheader, unique sound, and my wife hears me coming when i', 3 miles away.
but then,i love loud pipes, and it really isn't bad on the bike, most of the sound goes behind me
as far as power,a true header has the scavenging effect.
that's the pipe i DID put on a superglide and I'd do it again too!
I went with Bub straight aways. Love the sound and the look of them. So far I haven't seen anybody else with these pipes around here so I don't think they're that common. Also you can get different ends for the pipes... slash cut, turn down, whatever you want. They have a nice heavy rumble... loud but I love them. Here's a pic after my first ride.
I thought I was leaning towards the thunderheader but I hear lots of horror stories of fit and finish on them. I do like the idea of power but 2 into 1 has an odd look to me. I have a while before Ill do it so just researching now. Thanks for the opinions guys, much appreciated!
