'06 RoadGlide. Brand new in Nov '05. Anyhow the gauge is easily off by more than 3/8 tank. Only had dealer look at it while the 95" stageII kit was installed last year, ran down to less than .2 of a gallon before the low fuel indicator came on at 175 miles. HA, at the time the gauge read 3/8 of a tank! That was way back 1st tankfull. Anyhow, after adjustments low fuel indicator now is better, @ .7 gallon left in tank. However she still reads about 3/8 more fuel than what the hell is in there. No, I have not yet been back to the dealership (they are aware of it) but I want a heads up if possible. Anyone had their fuel gauge recalibrated properly and what was the problem found? Thanks TOM
Join the club. Don't know anyone who has an accurate fuel gauge. Just keep an eye on your trip meter and fill up when you get near whatever the mileage you get on a full tank with your bike. That's what most of us do.

Well thats what I been doin' -aint my 1st rodeo as they say. Back about 12 years ago had a Dynaglide with a gauge that worked fine. And for the 60 some odd thousand miles we rode together. Just sold a '98RK in Oct '05. That fuel gauge also worked pretty damn good as well. Never a re-calibration or need to adjust for well over 100,000 mi. When at 1/2 tank, I had close to 2.5 gallons of fuel give or take due to obvious intangables. Im aware of the trip-thanks- Just lookin' for the fix-reason or cause.
Just so that I know, how many miles does a stock Street Glide adverage per tank on the highway? I'll be picking mine up and driving home and don't want to run out on my first tank. My Night Train can go about 220 miles before the low fuel light comes on but she isn't stock anymore.

When I picked up my RG last fall I didnt quite get 200 actual miles on the first FULL tank. Dealer had put gas in it at delivery but not to where you & I would have filled it. Had to go by my 2nd fillup. 'course motor not broken in. By then was breaking in new 95" kit stageII. Im getting exactly 40mpg around town now. Man your NightTrain gets great mileage. I could definitely live with that.
Bike has just over 3k miles on it so it is broken in. 40+ would be great on the SG. My Night Train clicks off 52 mpg and that is with pipes, A/C and PC III. Last summer I rode with my Dad & Bro, they have Ultras and they couldn't believe my milege.
