Default 98" builds

Who has the better build between Head-Quarters and GMR Performance for their 98" kit's? (most bang for the dollar that is reliable)

I can vouch forHQs stuff -- you can talk to them directly and tell them what you want -- and that is exactly what you are going to get --- i wanted my bike to do wheelies and burnouts --- I was out practicing wheelies today--there parts are excellent

Don't think I'd go that far.

Both are very reputable companies owned by stand-up guys. But their businesses are very different. HQ does not do assembly work for customers and sells only HQ products with the notable exception of offering the RevPerf nikasil cylinders with piistons. GMR is, in part, like an indy by doing work on customer bikes, including assembling motors. GMR also sells RefPerf andAxtell cylinders, R&R heads, camshafts from a variety of suppliers, etc.

HQ is almost like a crate motor business only they sell the components unassembled--they rework stock HD heads using new valves, guides, etc. supplied by vendors to HQ's specs; bore cylinders and fit pistons made to HQ's specs to be compatible with their heads and cams; spec cams that are manufactured for them; etc. and etc.

In short, everything going into your HQ build comes from HQ, is made by HQ, or is made to their spec.Pretty much one stop shopping and one stop responsibility--it's all their stuff--and it works.

It's not for my bike. My dad asked me to do a build on his 06 RK custom.

stick with the 95 ..
if you want the 98 call axtell and get their cylinders.
as far as GMR... the GMR topic has been beat up pretty much on another forum and all trueand it is not good. i will not get into it on an open forum again.
