Just got a chance to put some miles on the SG today with the new 9 inch windshield I got from Sin City Cycle. Big improvement over the stock 4 inch. Doesn't look quite as good as the shorter one, but the extra protection is worth it this time of year. The buffetting around my head is greatly reduced and I can hear the stereo much better. I think I paid about $38 with shipping for the shield - the quality is great ad fit is perfect. Harley wants over $100 for one of their taller shields! For reference, I'm about 5' 9" and I'm still looking over the top of the 9" shield.
I just put the 8" SinCity dark smoked shield on my EG. I need to update my pics on the forum. The shield looked really short when I got it but I put it on Friday night and then did a little over 100 miles with it yesterday aftenoon. Didn't have any problems with wind buffeting, I'm about 5' 9" and so this shorter shield is a lot better then looking through the stock one.
OK! OK! Sorry guys, I figured you already had an idea what it looked like. I just ran out to the garage and took some - lighting sucks, but at least you should be able to get an idea. Doesn't look quite as good with the taller shield, but it makes a wolrd of difference when you are behind it!
They all look good! Coudn't get a 9" that had all the factory tabs for my '89. Bought a 12" and cut it down to 9 3/4".
Used that to replace the 6" I thought I just had to have...
I'll gladly give up the "look" to hear the stereo completly clear at 80 plus and not deal with the wind buffeting. The little screeens look good, but the additional buffeting diminishes the long range capability of the Electraglide IMHO...
