Default Touring Pull Back Handlebar Kit

I've noticed on some longer riders, that my arms hurt a little. I'm guessing that I am having to reach a little for the bars. Has anyone installed the Touring Pull Back Handlebar Kit from HD? Because of all the controls, is it a tough install?

As an option, is there any adjustment in the stock bars ( 07 Ultra ) that might make it a little more comfortable with less install work? Any other options?

Slightly vertically challenged.

Chuck

I had the dealer install the pull back bars on my Ultra. I had the cables switched to braided at the same time, and didn't want to screw with getting the right length cables myself. I also switched to chrome controls at the same time... total package. One thing I had them do that was different, when they normally install the bars, they set it up like a Heritage Softail. I don't like that position, so I had them lower them. Feels great cruising, but it does make it a little cumbersome at low speed manuvering.

Do the Khromewerks bars keep the same wrist angle as the stock bars? The HD pull back bars put my wrists in an akward angle.

Pull backs are great, made a big difference in how my arms and hands feel after a long day of riding. Also got my handlebars off the tank, which helps in cornering too, just a smoother feel to the bike now.

Same with me on the stock bars. The bend of the stock bars just isn't right for me. My right wrist is held in a funny angle and it gets sore after a few hours.

Can't help you with the Kromewerks setup. I still have the stock ones. [:'(]

my experience and opinions: stock bars bad, h-d pullback worse, kromewerks great. no cables or lines replaced, just re-routed.

Swapped to the tallboy bars on Wednesday, different angles but the part numbers are the same. Took me about 8 hours to swap the bars and install the cruise control module. Swapping the clutch cable was the worst part, fortunately I didn't have to remove the whole exaust just broke loose the bolts and pulled it far enough to get the cover off.

Oh yeah, be careful putting the controls back on, I lost an hour tracking down the ignition wire I pinched (short to bars). And the part about using the spacer in the brake handle would have been good to follow as well. Not a big deal since I replaced the right side pod w/ the cruise control but my brakelight switch didn't appear to survive the swap.

Here are the Khromewerks part numbers for owners of '08's which have elctronic throttle control. I'm thinking about installing these for my Roadking. They are the same as the 300505's except have the notching for the ETC.

-300511 Wide Sweeper f/08 FLHR, FLTR
-300512 Wide Sweeper f/08 FLHT
-300514 +2 Wide Sweeper f/08 FLHR,TR
-300515 +2 Wide Sweeper f/08 FLHT M.S.L. $79.99
