Default Wire sizes

Can any1 tell me the size wire in gauge that is used thruout an Electraglide for most of the standard connections....such as the bluewire for tail lites, the red yellow for brakes, the black grounds etc.

Most likely the wire is a #14 gauge, some others may be a #16 but I can't imagine either bigger or smaller than these. Hope this helps for whatever your doing.

+1 14ga. stranded automotive wire ..... not sure of any 16, maybe a turn signal? Some 8 or 10 ga. on the starter, battery, etc.

There is no way that the wiring is predominantly 14 ga. The tailight wiring, for example is 16 IIRC. I've done quite a bit of wiring work on my bike with the stereo, cruise, saddlebag spoiler/LEDs, etc. and that wiring is no larger than 16 ga. Pity HD doesn't specifiy wire sizes.

My '04 HD Service Manual explains crimping procedures and special crimping tools, etc. Under the title "Standard Terminals," the wire sizes used by the crimping tool are 16-18, and 20, but the pics used are for 16-18 part of the crimp tool. Far from definitive, of course.
