Default Check Engine Light Problem?

2008 SG/SERT/SEAC 7500 miles

I turn on the ignition, wait for the check engine light to go out. Start motor. Recently (past week), after I start the engine, the Check Enging Light will re-appear for about 8 seconds then go out. Everything seems to run fine. The light will not return throughtout my ride. Any ideas why this started happening? Problem?

It has a stored code, must have been a one time thing. Do a seach and you will find a procedure to clear it.

It means your bike is getting ready to explode!
Really, I wouldn't worry about it. Next time your at a dealer, have him pull the code. The processor probably just misread a "0" for a "1" on start-up. Matter of fact, mine did just that when I started out today. Started and stopped several times today and it did not repeat.
Hey, wonder if Auto Zone can pull the codes?

It is a Historic code, a current code the light will stay on. You can check the codes through the speedo by holding down the tripreset and turning the ignition on. When DIAG blinks in the odometer release thereset, it should now read pssptb. The first "p" should be blinking, hold the reset down till either "none" or a code comes up, if there are codes it will show them one at a time by clicking the reset, if none the ECM part # will scroll by. Click the reset again and the first "s" will blink, hold the reset to read again and again for each of the systems. Once youve written down any codes you have, you clear then by holding the reset down when the code is displayed and it will change to "clear". Once you have the codes you can do a search here or ask at the dealer what the code is!
