Default 08 throttle slop

Picked up my 08 Ultra and noticed the throttle slides in and out on the handle bars maybe less than 1/4 inch. Does anyone else have this problem? A little sloppy or clunky and not sure if I can fix it.

Loosen the master cylinder bolts and switch housing bolts and slide the whole assembly up the bar, leave some slack in the grip as you do not want it to bind. Then retighen the bolts. Doc

I agree w/HDDOC. If it's too much to handle, take it back to the dealership and have them take a look at it.

BTW, I checked my '08 Ultra and it doesn't have the problem you mention.

There is also a little slop in the gears - the ring gear in the grip does not mesh tightly with the gear on the TBW assembly. You can't adjust that.

Thats the ticket! I was riding over the weekend and I turned the throttle and nothing happened. I didnt want to stop and try to figure out what was happening so I went straight to the dealership. I asked the mechanic how he fixed it and he showed me what you just said. I have an 08EGC with optional grips.
