I had a center stand put on my ElectraGlide during bike week here in Arizona. It was at Hacienda Harley Davidson in Scottsdale. They had a vendor in their parking lot installing chrome center stands. I questioned the vendor about the look of the springs and he said they coated them to prvent rust. Both springs have broken and the vendor is nowhere to be found. He drives a motorhome and also does pin stripping. He usually pulls a Ural and sidecar behind it. He was also at the Rocky Point rally last November in Mexico.
I assumed that since Haceinda Harley allowed him to display and install in their parking lot, it would be fine. MY MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Contacted Hacienda Harley, no response.
Did you pay for it by credit card? If so, dispute the charges! If you paid for it by check, then see if it's already cleared. If not, I'd sure be inclined to put a stop payment on it....
