Wondering if anybody has had this problem on the '08 RK, if so, what dealer or HD is doing/not doing (dealer has said that no Svc. Bulletin exists yet): intermittently when shifting it will seem to go into Neutral or will end up in almost any gear, randomly. Dangerous. My main interest is how many have had this issue (as I know of a few others) and whatyou have experienced as to approach HD has/will be taking. Not saying I have a gripe (now) with HD, in fairness to them. Thanks, Steve
RE: Gear selection problem '08 Road King (dangerous)
Many rides I've had would sometimes demonstrate a false neutral between 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th. Never had a ride that would go from say 2nd to 5th without driver error (Mine not yours). If it occurs in the general experience I'm sure others will chime in. Good Luck.

Had an issue with mine where it wouldn't downshift correctly. The problem was where the shift lever shaft goes through the boss in the primary. It was too tight and needed to be lubed. I took it apart, lubed it and it's been fine since. Some guys even grill the boss and put a grease fitting on it.
I know this probably isn't your problem but there is an outside chance this might help you.
